Technology for Complex Musculoskeletal reconstructions

This research line is responding to an increasing incidence of high energy trauma, complex revision arthroplasty, and bone metastases resulting in loss of mobility, workability and self-care in daily life. The research involves developing innovative technologies, including 3D-printing of personalized implants, artificial intelligence (AI) and 4D-models, to improve prevention of and treatment strategy in three areas of complex MSK reconstruction:

•    complex posttraumatic and congenital upper- and lower limb deformities.
•    revision arthroplasty
•    spine surgery, including scoliosis, spinal metastases, and geriatric spinal trauma.
