Improving Surgery for Complex Musculoskeletal Disorders Using Technical Solutions’

Research line 3 focusses on improving surgery for complex and rare musculoskeletal injuries and disorders through technical solutions. Complex musculoskeletal injuries and disorders present at all ages and result in permanent loss of mobility, work absenteeism, and reduced independence.

The current treatment options are expensive and consume considerable healthcare resources. There is a notable increase in the complexity of orthopaedic surgical procedures. This trend is driven by advancements in technology, evolving patient demographics, and the growing prevalence of musculoskeletal conditions. These trends highlight the growing burden on healthcare systems and underscore the need for innovative approaches to manage costs and improve patient outcomes after complex surgical reconstructions.

Our goal is to improve  the quality of life for patients with complex musculoskeletal disorders through technical innovations in surgical procedures.
