M.C.R.(Merel) Roelen

I have studied Medicine at Erasmus MC and graduated in March 2022. During my studies I have always been interested in the musculoskeletal system. After graduating I started working as a surgical resident and orthopedic resident. In August 2023 I got the opportunity to start a PhD at the department of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine here at Erasmus MC. 

My research project is called ‘GUIDANCE and focuses on children with cerebral palsy and hip dysplasia. The aim is to determine whether guided growth of the proximal femur decreases the risk of further hip migration and need for further surgery.
