During my studies in Human Movement Sciences , I developed a special interest in orthopedic surgery. Throughout my academic journey, I contributed to various scientific research projects, encompassing both total hip arthroplasty and bone tumors in the lower extremities. Specifically, my focus was on enhancing rehabilitation and outcomes related to quality of life and functionality after such surgical interventions.

My academic education started at the University of Groningen, where I studied both the bachelor's (2017-2020) and master's degrees (2020-2022) in Human Movement Sciences, specialising in rehabilitation. During my studies, I was able to publish a couple of scientific articles on outcomes after total hip arthroplasty and lower limb-salvage surgery for bone tumours.

In january 2023, I started my current PhD-program. Part of this program is coordinating a trial in our hospital, investigating the effect of preoperative tranexamic acid on blood loss during osteotomies around the hip in children. I'm also coordinating national multi-center trial into the treatment of centered developmental dysplasia of the hip (TRAM study), for which I have an appointment at the LUMC.
