E. (Erin) Macri, PhD
I am a Canadian-trained physical therapist who completed my PhD in 2017 at the University of British Columbia, Canada. My dissertation focused on characterizing patellofemoral alignment and bony morphology in individuals with patellofemoral osteoarthritis. I came to Erasmus MC in 2018 as a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow (funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research), and in 2020 I joined the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. My work is focused on identifying biomechanical risk factors for osteoarthritis that could help to develop better treatments for preventing osteoarthritis.
I am an associate editor for the British Journal of Sports Medicine, and an Executive Board member for the International Patellofemoral Pain Research Network.
