A.E. (Anna) van der Windt, MD, PhD
I was trained at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus MC, Reinier de Graaf hospital and Amphia hospital.
I am an orthopedic surgeon since 2020 and did a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Máxima MC.
I work at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam since 2022 as an orthopedic surgeon specialized in disorders of the arm, with special interest in elbow disorders. I have been participating as faculty member and course director in multiple (inter)national elbow courses.
I obtained my PhD in 2017 at the Erasmus University for my basic research in cartilage regeneration. Currently I am involved in basic and clinical research for osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) and early osteoarthritis of the elbow in children and young adults. My goal is to gain insight in the biomechanics and etiology of OCD of the elbow and to improve diagnostic tools and treatment options to prevent early osteoarthritis in young patients.
I am the coordinator and main contact for the Expert Center for Rare Diseases for Osteochondritis Dissecans and Early Osteoarthritis of the Elbow at the Erasmus MC.
