C. Camille Blaaker
I have a background in medicine and completed my bachelor’s degree in Rotterdam. I then pursued a research master with a focus on Clinical Research and Epidemiology, during which I conducted research within the Hand Wrist Study Group, focusing on thumb base osteoarthritis. Throughout this trajectory, my enthusiasm for scientific research and for understanding the pathophysiology of the musculoskeletal system has continued to grow. I am therefore highly motivated to further develop these interests within my PhD research on denervation for thumb base osteoarthritis, contributing to both clinical insight and improved patient care.
Clinical research in hand and wrist surgery, with a focus on thumb base osteoarthritis (CMC 1 OA) and surgical denervation. Experience includes retrospective cohort studies and case series research, as well as contributions to studies on wrist and PIP joint denervation. Strong background in clinical epidemiology, biostatistics, and study design, with advanced skills in data analysis and statistical modelling using R.
