B (Britt) Barvelink
I am a PhD-candidate at the department op Orthopedics and Sports medicine. My research focusses on the treatment of complex distal radius fractures in adults. My main research project is the CAST study, a multicenter randomized controlled trial. I also collaborate in the AI consortium, in which artificial intelligence is deployed to help predict fracture redisplacement in wrist fractures. I started my research in January 2020 and I aim to finish my thesis soon.
I received my master’s degree of medicine from the University of Groningen and started my medical career in the east of the Netherlands with two years of residency (not in training) in general surgery and orthopedic surgery.
